Energifonden, through its wholly owned subsidiary Energifonden Maritime AS in Oslo, has acquired a new tanker which has been renamed Agneta Pallas 2 (ex Solviken).
The acquisition follows a decision to invest further in the field of energy logistics.
The vessel is of the aframax type with a cargo capacity of about 127,000 kbm. and has the highest ice class, which makes it possible to operate in the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland during the winter.
Agneta Pallas 2 will undergo energy and environmental improvement measures during the winter to reduce fuel consumption and emissions from the ship.
The vessel is flagged in Liberia as Energifonden's previous vessels.
Energifonden has entered into two different employment agreements for Agneta Pallas 2, which run for a longer period and with a total order value of approximately SEK 550 million.
"I feel extremely blessed and grateful that Energifonden has been given the opportunity to acquire this vessel and to close this deal. I strongly believe that it will be of great benefit to Energifonden's shareholders and its customers who will use the vessel to supply Europe's refineries with crude oil."
