Energifonden has acquired a VLCC tanker
Energifonden has acquired a tanker of the type "VLCC" (very large crude carrier). The name of the vessel will be "AGNETA PALLAS 3" and the home port will be Monrovia (Liberia) in accordance with Energifonden's practice.
The vessel will shortly be delivered from its current owner to Energifonden's newly established subsidiary Pallas Tankers.
"Agneta Pallas 3" was built in 2013 and has a deadweight of 320,000 tons with a length of 335 meters and a width of 60 meters. It is also equipped with an exhaust gas cleaning system (scrubber) that reduces sulfur emissions. The ship will transport crude oil in worldwide traffic for a major international trading company.
The order book for this type of vessel is the lowest in many years and ton miles will increase due to geopolitical effects, etc., which makes Energifonden bullish on this type of vessel and crude oil transport in general in the coming years.
"I am very grateful and extremely happy about this blessing that is now raining down on Energifonden with this ship acquisition. Energifonden views the market for this type of ship with great confidence and is convinced that it will generate good returns for Energifonden's investors and shareholders in the future."
