Energifonden acquires another crude oil tanker

October 1, 2019

Energifonden has acquired another crude oil tanker, the CAPE BRINDISI, built in 2005 at the Hyundai shipyard and is of the Suezmax type.

The acquisition is made through a 50/50 joint venture with the well-known Ridgebury Tankers in Connecticut.

The vessel will be renamed RIDGEBURY PALLAS and delivery will take place in Asia shortly.

RIDGEBURY PALLAS will enter into a time charter contract with an international tank brokerage immediately after delivery.

"We are incredibly pleased and proud to enter into a joint venture with the Ridgebury team and together acquire this very fine vessel on good terms while the market is rapidly improving. We look forward with confidence to the coming years in the large tanker sector. Energifonden, which intends to acquire further crude oil tankers, also acquired the aframax tanker Pallas Orust during the summer, which has worked beyond expectations” - Fredrik M.
