Energifonden acquires shares in additional tankers

November 19, 2019

Energifonden has today acquired two additional vessels in a joint venture with Euronav, Ridgebury Tankers and Tufton. Euronav is the main owner and Energifonden has a 12.5% stake in each vessel.

These vessels are of the Suezmax type and are sister vessels to the Ridgebury Pallas that Energifonden acquired earlier in the autumn.

The ships are named Cape Bari and Cape Bastia but will be renamed upon takeover to Bari and Bastia.

The vessels will be operated commercially in Euronav's own spot market system. The takeover of Bari took place today and Bastia in early December.

The ships were built in 2005 in South Korea at the Hyundai shipyard and fly the Marshall Island flag.

Energifonden is proud to enter into this joint venture with Euronav, Ridgebury and Tufton and looks forward to operating these in the strong market for crude oil tankers.
